Chickenfoot's first concert film, Chickenfoot Live, will play a one-night engagement in selected theatres around the country on December 1st, according to Blabbermouth. A trailer for the movie can be viewed online and more information is available about locations where the film will be playing.

Although the band's performances in Atlanta on August 30th and Phoenix on September 23rd were both filmed for a possible future DVD release, it is not clear whether footage from these shows are part of the new film.
Chickenfoot is comprised of Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith, guitarist Joe Satriani and ex-Van Halen singer Sammy Hagar and bassist Michael Anthony.
Smith told us that he thinks one reason Chickenfoot has been a hit with fans is that audiences sense the band is having a good time together:

"I think people pick up on that vibe of it. So when we're playing our shows, we're like smiling and having a great time, playing off each other and extending the songs and jamming, and it's like kind of, you know, old school in that way. But it's like, it's fresh. To me it's fresh. I don't know. I mean, it feels good to me, so if it feels good, do it." Chickenfoot's self-titled debut album, released in June, was certified gold earlier this fall for sales of more than half a million copies. A deluxe edition of the record arrives in the U.K. on Monday (November 23rd). Smith reconvened with the Chili Peppers last month to begin writing and recording the band's 10th album. The quartet is also nominated for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame next year.
